Photostimulated luminescence properties of neutron image plates

2016

Abstract The luminescence properties of two commercial neutron-sensitive image-plates based on Gd 2 O 3 -doped BaFBr:Eu 2 + storage phosphors are examined. These are white Fuji plates and blue Fuji plates (BAS-ND) with Gd 2 O 3 content by weight of 34% and 50%, respectively. Both plates show two maxima in the photostimulation spectrum near 500 nm and 600 nm, with the ratio of the peak responses ( I 600 nm / I 500 nm ) 1.39 and 0.53 for the white and blue plates respectively. The optimum wavelengths for photostimulation for the two phosphors are therefore different. The response of the blue plate is only 25% that of the white plate, if each is stimulated at its optimum wavelength.

Experimentelle In-vitro-Studie zur Evaluierung eines elektronischen Detektors für die digitale Radiographie

2004

Purpose: To evaluate the contrast-detail performance of a flat-panel detector system, we performed a comparative study of this flat-panel system versus storage phosphor and conventional screen-film systems. Materials and Methods: Bone models made of human humeri were prepared with foreign bodies, fracture lines and drilled holes to create artificial fractures, osteolyses or metastases. Immersed in a water bath, hard copy images of these models were acquired with the same exposure dose (55 kV; 3.2 mAs) on the flat-panel detector, two state-of-the-art storage phosphor systems (PCR®, ADC®) and two conventional screen-film systems (Insight®, T-Mat®). Using a standardized protocol with a 4-point…

ODEPR of indium colour centres in the X- irradiated storage phosphor KBr:In

1995

The results of measurements of the magnetic circular dichroism of the optical absorption (MCDA) and optically detected electron paramagnetic resonance (ODEPR) of X-irradiated KBr :In crystals are presented. The MCDA bands and ODEPR parameters of In°(1) centers and In 2+ centres have been measured. The mechanism of the energy storage in KBr :In crystals is found not to be simply the formation of correlated F centre-In 2+ centre pairs as was assumed previously. Considerable similarities to the storage phosphor BaFBr :Eu 2+ were found for the photostimulated emission and read-out properties.

In vitro comparison of root-canal measurements with conventional and digital radiology.

2002

Aim The present study compared the efficacy of digital and conventional radiology for root-canal length measurement. Methodology Seventy extracted teeth with pre-served roots were used. Root-canal length measurements were completed with K-Flexofiles (numbers 08, 10 and 15) with conventional and digital radiography using two systems (radiovisiography and photostimulate storage phosphor). All films and sensors were exposed at projections of 0 degrees and 20 degrees to the mesial. The images obtained were evaluated with and without magnification, and analysed using the Cohen's kappa test. The accuracy of the three systems to determine the root-canal length were evaluated by measuring the dista…

Projection and Pinhole-Based Data Acquisition for Small-Animal SPECT Using Storage Phosphor Technology

2007

Three-dimensional Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) can provide high-resolution insight into biomolecular distribution and pharmacokinetics. However, instrument availability and distribution is limited at present, and imaging times can be considerable. To evaluate the large array of novel agents which are becoming available,we find that storage phosphor-based in vivo imaging can provide an important,rapid-throughput transition from the traditional ex vivo sacrifice/gamma counting and autoradiography to full-time course SPECT.
